Since starting this blog, I’ve been wanting to touch on healthy snacks because some people think they can’t incorporate snacks in your diet.
I am a very on-the-go person so, I am constantly grabbing snacks while I’m walking out the door. I have made a list of snacks that taste good and are healthier alternatives than your average cookie or bag of chips. All of these snacks you can find in my pantry almost 24/7.
Popcorn is a snack essential for me. My favorite kind is Late July organic kettle popcorn. There’s only 70 calories her cup and it taste SO good. They have other flavors so if you aren’t a kettle corn fan, you’re still in luck!
2. Granola Cups
I know everyone loves a good granola bar as do I but, my roommate found these granola cups from Nature Valley and they are a game changer. They are 200 calories and 22 grams of carbs so I don’t have more than a pack a day since that is a high calorie snack. They also have almond butter if you’re allergic to peanuts!
This snack is probably my favorite out of the whole list. Annie’s organic chocolate chip cookies taste exactly like Chips Ahoy and I could probably eat the whole box in one sitting. This brand has so many great snack alternatives. There is also a brand called Back to Nature that has chocolate chip and an Oreo flavored cookie that is just as good.
I’m not a huge pretzel fan but the Snack Factory pretzel crisps has so many different flavors I can’t put them down. My favorites are the cinnamon sugar and the buffalo wing, you can’t go wrong with either.
I know what you’re thinking, ew hummus. I never eat plain hummus but then I discovered brownie batter dessert hummus. Dipping strawberries in this is the best thing if you’re looking for something on the sweeter side. It’s made with chickpeas so it’s not super rich in flavor but still a must have.
6. Ice Cream
My all-time favorite dessert and probably one of the unhealthiest. But, there are so many low-calorie ice cream brands such as Halo Top and Enlightened. My favorite ice cream bars are Yasso frozen greek yogurt bars. They are creamy and are still rich in flavor. Obviously no low calorie ice cream is going to taste as good as a Sonic blast but maybe close.
All of these you can either find at Walmart or Publix and they are all pretty affordable. There are many semi-healthy snacks out there that are looked over because their brands are unfamiliar but don’t underestimate them!
